Black Sand was born during winter of 2002 in Milan (Italy), formed originally by Max (guitar), Mao (guitar) and Kevin (drums). Been Born like a cover band of classic metal (old Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden), the line up is almost completed with Fabrizio (bass). All the members (more or less) have already had previous musical experiences, and all of them love metal music, everyone with his specific passions, with a great desire to create something together. The research for the lead singer has been frustrating, it took a long time to find someone with a powerful and great voice. During this long and painful process (it took a very long time) the band changes his musical skin, maturing a big interest in making original stuff; covers were neglected. Therefore first riffs were born, they were more aggressive than what covered previously, something more near to the death metal area. After rehearsing with so many singers they finally found the right guy (Dan) a young man with a great talent and technique. After some gigs in the Milan area, (including good performances at the Emergenza Rock contest and at The Rolling Stone in Milan), they needed to do something bigger: so they recorded a self produced demo cd, including 4 tracks of thrash-death metal (Killer Instinct, Nevermore, We Annihilate, The Skinner). Now about 15 songs are ready, and after the summer they are going to record them in their own recording home studio.
